HISTORY's Moment in Media: The Biggest Names in Music Gather to Record "We Are the World"
It was the biggest all-star song of all time, recorded in a marathon, all-night session that had each of the 45 megawatt artists who appear on the track in attendance. It raised tens of millions of dollars for famine relief in Africa. And it catalyzed a generation of subsequent supergroup fundraisers, all high-profile but none quite as big.

TV Takes a Back Seat to AdTech and CTV at 2022 Upfronts
The 2022 Upfronts felt more like the IAB Newfronts than Upfronts in many ways, with most networks talking about impressions, algorithms and the shift to streaming. From Peacock and Paramount+ to announcements of an ad-supported Disney+ and rumors of what Netflix might do, the buzz was more about the current future of TV than the past TV landscape we once knew. Regardless, the future is bright for TV.

The Elephant That Was
Once upon a time there was a place called Togetherland. It was a happy place where people lived in harmony, helping each other and working together. The farmer would only grow what the land could support; the builder used materials best suited to the climate; the shops sold what people needed. Everyone lived well, doing what they were best at doing.

Lifetime's "Cellmate Secrets: Chris Watts" Uncovers a Shocking Confession of Murder
Lifetime's continuing documentary series Cellmate Secrets (narrated by Angie Harmon) exposes new details in the case of Christopher Watts, the Colorado-based father who in November of 2018 was charged with the murder of his pregnant wife Shanann, but not his daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3. After accepting a plea deal for his wife's and unborn child's murder, he received five life sentences without the possibility of parole. Cellmate Secrets: Chris Watts offers two different viewpoints of Watts: That of Christa Richello, who believes he's innocent, and that of Cheryln Cadle (author of Letters from Christopher: The Tragic Confessions of the Watts Family Murders), to whom Watts would admit killing his whole family. From the day Watts stood on the family porch, pleading for their safe return, Cadle (pictured at top) believed he was guilty, but she never dreamed her interest in the case would lead to his shocking admission. Her intent was to clear Shanann's name after Watts had accused her of killing their children.

20 for 2020: The Top TV/Video Content of the Year (Part 2)
Given the hardships of 2020, it seems almost unfair to indulge in the annual ritual of identifying the year's best, because for much of the past 12 months television and video success were all about which company or individual had the most content in the can when life as we knew it unexpectedly and abruptly slammed to a stop. As a result, in most situations our viewing patterns and preferences were not the usual. Still, in the interest of maintaining a degree of normalcy wherever possible, I'm going to stick with tradition and identify my favorites. The first part of this two-part column listed my picks for the No. 11-No. 20 shows. Here, in reverse order, are my Top 10.
