Merrill Brown, perhaps best known for serving as the first editor-in-chief of MSNBC.com, launched The News Project in 2018, along with a number of media industry colleagues. Brown’s company serves as a one-stop-shop, providing software and analytics to digital publishers. In this interview, Brown joins Erich Prince to discuss The News Project and how its services can be of use to both nonprofit and for-profit news sites, as well as the “local news crisis.”
