Senior Vice President, North America Director of Digital and Social Media

Stephen Marino is the North American director of digital and social media for MSLGROUP. He brings over 17 years of experience in developing digital business and communication strategies, as well as social Web development solutions. In his role, Stephen develops and drives digital strategy, aiming to increase the value of a company’s footprint in the digital space, whether it is a site redesign or focusing on deploying social media strategies and implementation focused on the social Web. He has worked on such accounts as Siemens, Ford, Unilever, TDAmeritrade and Pfizer MedImmune.
Prior to joining MSLGROUP Stephen was senior vice president, 360° Digital Influence of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, with responsibility for the day-to-day operations for the 360° Digital Influence group in North America. Additionally he led the social media strategy for BP during the 2010 oil spill crisis. Before Ogilvy, he was at GetActive Software in Washington, D.C. helping large organizations and non-profit agency’s with messaging, advocacy, fundraising, and website development. Stephen also spent 10 years at Magnet Interactive. Based in Georgetown, Magnet was a pioneering force in creating an online presence for some of the world’s best known brands. When the company merged with AKQA, Stephen served as managing director of the Washington DC office, as well as the global alliance director for the firm’s strategic partner Accenture.
Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Boston University and a master’s degree from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Interactive Telecommunications Program.
