Stephan Beringer is responsible for driving accelerated scale, connectivity and consistency across Publicis Media’s data, technology and innovation capabilities. He oversees the global implementation and delivery of tech, data and programmatic solutions, inclusive of RUN’s suite of offerings and the VOS.
Beringer also serves as executive lead on Publicis Groupe-wide partnerships with major partners, such as Google, Facebook and Adobe. The Groupe’s strategic Always On relationship with Adobe was rooted in his idea – initially concepted in 2013 - to democratize digital marketing technology by building a unique platform that empowers Groupe agencies to layer Adobe Marketing Cloud technology onto their proprietary initiatives and IP.
He broke new ground as VivaKi’s former CEO, where he dismantled the agency “trading desk” model in 2014, making Publicis Groupe the first holding company to integrate programmatic planning and activation services directly into its agencies’ core capabilities.
Prior to joining VivaKi, Beringer was Chief Growth and Strategy Officer for the Digital Technologies Division of Publicis Groupe, which, at the time, included DigitasLBi and Razorfish. In that role, he was responsible for creating and deploying cross-agency teams tailor-made for clients. Before that, he served as International CEO for Digitas and Razorfish from 2009 to 2013, where he built the network across 11 international markets serving clients such as Audi, L’Oréal, McDonald's, Renault, P&G and Samsung.
During the ‘90s, he established and led the first communication agency with digital at the core in Germany, which became Tribal DDB. By the time he left in 2009, he had tripled the network's regional footprint in Europe to 24 offices and led the team to be awarded with all significant industry accolades. In 2005, he also coined the term “omnimedia age,” long before it became a mainstream concept to describe the burgeoning ad industry, redefined by the explosion of communication devices and media channels.
A quadrilingual German native, Beringer has served as James Bond’s getaway man – quite literally, he was Sean Connery’s assistant and driver in the earlier part of his career. Outside of work, he can often be found traveling the world, testing out his skiing skills or checking out his favorite bands and artists in concert.
