Maren began her TV addiction early. One of her first memories is of watching "Video Village" (a 1960 game show hosted by Monte Hall) while sitting on her grandpa's lap munching slices of american cheese. She was two. In grade school, she was an avid fan of "Bewitched", "Jeannie", "Addams Family", "Car 54, Where are You?", and "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" - and watched them all FIRST RUN. As she moved through high school in the early 70's, Friday nights were spent with The Bradys, The Partridges, "Room 222", "Odd Couple" and "Love, American Style". As we've moved through the 90's to today, her TV has improved from a 23" RCA with a very tired VCR to a 50" Samsung HDTV with 7- channel surround sound and that wonder of all wonders, TiVo. The show choices have stayed varied with one hour dramas and sports leading the way.
It was inevitable that Maren would choose to immerse herself in media as her career. She is a twenty+ year veteran of the media wars, having done both media planning and buying for every type of client business and using every type of media vehicle. Currently, she is an associate media director for Prometheus, an Omnicom company with offices in downtown Chicago. Her responsibilities include planning national and local TV, as well as radio, online, print, and any/all other media that "currently are" or "are coming" for two very busy financial services clients.
In "Married to the Media", Maren regularly reviews episodes of some of her favorite shows. (She couldn't review them all and still hold down a job!) You'll also find discussions of current TV events and developments, all from the viewpoint of someone who represents both "the eyeballs" and the people buying them!
