As Senior Vice President, Content Strategy for Blue 449, Gretchen identifies cultural opportunities for brands that unlock emotional storytelling to drive meaningful engagement and value in people’s lives. To her, brands are stories and stories are the very thing people crave to feel more connected to one another and to themselves. Media is the way to create and connect these stories to the people that need them, because through media, we have access to the world’s most talented storytellers and distributors.
Gretchen is known in the industry for building modern creative strategic approaches that push into emerging territories, repositioning iconic brands, such as IHOP, Duncan Hines and The J.M. Smucker Company, BMW and more, around these ideas to business driving effect. Among the industry’s first social media leaders, she established, built and led social media practices inside both McCann Worldgroup and Grey Group, prior to joining Blue 449.
Throughout her career, Gretchen has always sought the edge of communications, to not only understand, but help write this important chapter in communications history. Now, more than ever, brands can create real connections with people, to fulfill a need and build deep, empathetic human relationships. Her work has earned Cannes Lions finalist nods, “Next Generation Leader” awards, and Ad Club Best in Show commendations.
