Amanda, aka Alex, is a college Emmy-nominated filmmaker who is still making her way around New York City. Born and raised in Philly, she grew up especially interested in the ins and outs of the media world, and spent countless afternoons improving her creative storytelling skills with her sister. Her interest in film, photography, and video, stems from her experiences working as director and producer for La Salle T.V. and as a news/production intern at 6ABC in Philadelphia.
Amanda manages all of MediaVillage’s social outreach, amplifying members’ and columnists’ insights and messages across channels. She also oversees video creation and production.
As MediaVillage’s social media coordinator, Amanda enjoys using her skills to highlight the company’s values and mission by creating social campaigns that showcase its content and, using her videography skills to spotlight media executives, including conducting the interviews and handling production.
When she’s not proving to New Yorkers why the Eagles are better than the Giants or Jets, she’s watching DC Entertainment movies, searching for the best pizza spot, and avoiding all menu options that say, “Philly Cheesesteak.” Amanda’s college Emmy nomination is for a documentary she co-produced called “Off the Canvas,” about a local muralist in Philadelphia.
