With the ever-changing landscape and increased automation of the industry today, Jack Myers asked his guests if relationships still matter. Delving further, he asked Lee Nadler and Adam Harter what advice they might have for the next generation of marketers – those just starting their careers.
Nadler argued that relationships may be more important than ever – and that a good relationship with a partner may be the deciding factor in cementing a deal. He said, “At the end of the day, sometimes when you’re trying to go that extra step, the relationship is what makes the difference. Because there’s a trust in each other,” Nadler said.
In response to the changing environment, Harter described how Pepsico had created a digital accelerator team whose average age is 24 years old. He said, “There is a new breed of marketer that’s being created right now. And it’s a marketer that is exceptional at managing wielding the power of data. And it’s a marketer that truly understands the power of culture. And is continually adapts to this changing landscape.”
