UP Entertainment Launches National UPlift Someone Day to Extend Its Brand Mission Beyond the Screen

After twenty years of sharing uplifting programming for the masses, UP Entertainment is taking its mission beyond the screen with the launch of its inaugural National UPlift Someone Day on October 30th, coinciding with the network’s 20th anniversary. This new initiative aligns with their long-standing commitment to delivering content that inspires audiences and aims to bring that positivity into communities across the country.

According to Nicole Hall, Vice President of Brand Marketing at UPtv, the event is designed to translate UPtv’s brand message into real-world actions. “When we were thinking about how we can best represent 20 years of UP Entertainment, it came down to taking our core values and beliefs and bringing them outside of the TV and into the communities that we serve on a day-to-day basis,” Hall explained. The initiative encourages people to uplift at least one person that day, whether through a grand gesture or a simple act of kindness.

National UPlift Someone Day emerged from UPtv’s desire to counterbalance the negativity often seen in the media. “What you see in the news feels very negative and polarizing with the kind of times that we’re in right now, and that’s gotten into TV and film. Sometimes people just want a reprieve from the negativity, and we feel that our programming can serve that.” she noted.

The company first launched on October 30, 2004, as the Gospel Music Channel, now UPtv, and since then has expanded into over ten brands, including UP Faith & Family, aspireTV, Cine Romántico, GaitherTV+ and more.

For National UPlift Someone Day, UPtv has partnered with various organizations, including some in their hometown like Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and the Atlanta Community Food Bank, as well as national charity, Feeding America. “We partnered with Feeding America because we wanted to align ourselves with an organization that is doing the work to really help people on a day-to-day basis. They’re focused on addressing food scarcity and its root causes in this country and have already made a huge impact.”

Additionally, UPtv has joined forces with 1-800-Flowers.com® to offer a 15% discount on select gifts with the promo code “UPLIFTSOMEONE” throughout October and is offering severl sweepstakes for viewers and fans to enter for the chance to win gift cards and UP Faith & Family annual subscriptions. This partnership is meant to encourage viewers to share moments of joy through thoughtful gestures like sending flowers.

The campaign’s digital hub, upliftsomeoneday.com, provides resources and suggestions for how to participate. “Our mission for National UPlift Someone Day is to inspire as many people as possible to uplift at least one person that day,” Hall said. The website offers tips for small acts of kindness, a message wall for sharing inspirational stories, and downloadable, sharable digital e-cards with positive messages. Visitors can also find ways to get involved with local charities, participate in sweepstakes, or learn about volunteer opportunities.

Looking ahead toward the company’s future and keeping up with the ever-changing industry, Hall shared, “We know the media landscape is changing, and how consumers choose to consume content is changing. They are evolving and we will be evolving right along with them, making sure that we continue to deliver content in the way they want to receive it. Whether it’s linear, streaming, FAST or trying out new social platforms, we’re going to follow that journey along with our consumers.”

As UP Entertainment continues to grow and evolve, initiatives like National UPlift Someone Day underscore its unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact both on and off-screen. “Our core purpose will never change. We will always focus on uplifting and inspiring diverse audiences,” Hall affirmed. This new day of recognition is a testament to the media company’s mission, bringing its values directly into the lives of its viewers and their communities.
