The Critics Choice Association today announced the television nominations for the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards, which will be telecast live January 9, 2022 on The CW and TBS from the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. HBO this year garnered the most nominations (20) followed by Netflix (18). Among the nominees, HBO's Succession led the pack with eight nominations. HBO's Mare of Easttown and Paramount+'s Evil each received five.
In addition to Best Drama Series, Succession racked up a slew of acting nominations, including Brian Cox (pictured at top) and Jeremy Strong for Best Actor in a Drama Series; Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfadyen for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and J. Smith-Cameron and Sarah Snook (pictured at top) for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Mare of Easttown is up for Best Limited Series, with Kate Winslet nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television, Evan Peters for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television, and both Julianne Nicholson and Jean Smart for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television.
Evil is nominated for Best Drama Series, Mike Colter for Best Actor in a Drama Series, Katja Herbers for Best Actress in a Drama Series, and both Andrea Martin and Christine Lahti for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Several programs earned four nominations each, including Only Murders in the Building (Hulu), Ted Lasso (Apple TV+), The Good Fight (Paramount+), This Is Us (NBC), and WandaVision (Disney+).
The Critics Choice Awards are bestowed annually to honor the finest in cinematic and television achievement. Film category nominations for the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards will be announced on December 13.
