Details are emerging for regional meetings in October and November in four cities. And at the same time, MFM is laying the groundwork for its annual conference next May.
The in-person regional meetings will all cover a range of topics, including content development; crypto; NFTs and the blockchain; the emergence of the Metaverse and its impact on media and entertainment companies; mergers and acquisitions forecasts; risk management; human resources and related return-to-office and work-from home policies; the future of streaming, and distribution windowing challenges.
However, the speakers for each one will be unique.
Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, presented by MFM and DEG (Digital Entertainment Group), 3:30-6 PM PT. Joe Annotti, President and CEO of MFM and BCCA, will moderate a panel featuring Scott Byrne, Executive Director, EY Deborah Newman, Media & Entertainment Industry Leader, Grant Thornton Ashok Parmar, Partner, Deloitte; and Margarita Lam, Customer Executive, Media, Entertainment & Gaming at pointb.
Other regional events will take place:
- Oct. 25 at C-SPAN in Washington, DC, 3:30-5 PM& ET. A networking reception to follow at 5 PM at The Dubliner Pub (4 F Street NW, Washington, DC).
- Oct. 27 at Gray Media Group Headquarters in Atlanta, 3:30-5 PM ET. A networking social hour follows until 6 PM ET.
- Nov. 15 at Lowenstein Sandler LLP in New York City. A breakfast begins at 9 AM ET and is followed by the expert panel at 10 AM ET.

Meanwhile, plans are shaping up for the 2023 MFM Annual Conference, which takes place May 22-24 in Los Angeles. It will feature a keynote address and extended Q&A session with Jim Collins, the bestselling author of Good to Great and Built to Last. Conference attendees will also hear from industry leaders like Curtis LeGeyt, President and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters, and David Chavern, President and CEO of the News Media Alliance.
