The drumbeat towards greater diversity in the advertising ecosystem continues, as MediaVillage's annual Advancing Diversity Week kicks off in high gear with Black Talent Outreach week (October 17-20). It's an opportunity to truly celebrate winning DEI campaigns -- including Mower's "Open Every Door" for One Hundred Black Men of New York. Mower's Chief Creative Officer Doug Kamp is featured in this edition of the Storytelling Revolution.
The Mower agency's support of racial justice is showcased by its commitment to One Hundred Black Men of New York. In fact, Mower was announced as a featured honoree by the Diversity Action Alliance Diversity for creating a 2022 Best DEI Advocacy Campaign. The campaign pays homage to the history of the organization and its legacy of transformation. The overriding objective of the campaign is to "ensure the doors of opportunity in education, business and healthcare are open to the Black community."
Mower's media department secured sizable out-of-home media pro-bono support to support the campaign, including placements in Times Square, taxi tops, bus shelters and other billboards throughout New York City.
In my conversation, Kamp talks about the "Fierce. Fun. Independent" culture at Mower that fuels openness, transparency and a celebration of diversity. Watch the video above for an insightful conversation on how creating open and inclusive spaces tied with a genuine commitment to taking action on diversity can lead to significant social impact and business gains.
