Jodie Sweetin on Her New Hallmark Movie “Love Under the Rainbow"

In the film Sweetin plays Lucy Taylor a character who doubts she will ever find true love amp160Thatamp8217s until an unfortunate coffee mishap brings widower Jack Evans David HaydnJones pictured at top with Sweetin into her life amp160Soon Lucy and Jack canamp8217t seem to stop bumping into one another especially after his daughter Sophie Dakota Guppy pictured below with HaydnJones and Sweetinamp160enrolls in Lucyamp8217s class amp160As their encounters become more frequent a mutual attraction develops amp160Jack though canamp8217t overcome his fear of loss and allowing himself to love again amp8211 a definite roadblock to the happiness Jack and Lucy long foramp8220I thought the script was so sweet and most importantly I loved the connection between the Lucy and Sophie charactersamp8221 Sweetin shared amp160amp8220It was the first movie I39ve done in which a young character played an integral part not just of the story but also the relationship and bringing the two characters together amp160It was something I hadn39t done for Hallmark in that I have a relationship with one of the kids in itamp8221After growing up onscreen the Full House and Fuller House star has a unique appreciation of working with young actors amp160amp8220I do have a different understanding of what it39s like to be a kid on a setamp8221 she revealed amp160amp8220I just get it amp160Adult actors don39t understand what it39s like balancing school and work and I certainly remember how it felt when everyone else was having fun and hanging out and I had to go to class amp160I remember that being the worst amp160It brings a different level of understanding having experienced it amp160Like when they need a break and are afraid to ask amp160I do step in as I remember what it feels like having to just go alongamp8221Sweetin had a humorous sixdegrees connection to Dakota Guppy amp160amp8220Dakota actually played me in the Lifetime Full House biopicamp8221 she laughed amp160amp8220She was so excited and knew exactly who I was amp160She asked if Iamp8217d seen it and I told her amp8216Noamp8217 amp160Iamp8217d seen clips of it amp160I told her amp8216No offense but I39m not watching that movieamp8217 amp160She totally understood and was an absolute doll extremely sweet and really professional amp160It was one of those funny small world momentsamp8221Like the millions of fans Hallmark movies continue to amass Sweetin appreciates them and enjoys their message amp160amp8220I absolutely get caught up in that feelgood elementamp8221 she told me amp160amp8220Even though you39re in it and you know what you39re creating working with the Hallmark brand you know exactly what they want amp160You can read it in the script and say amp8216This is that moment this is that momentamp8217 which is great amp160People love that and its what39s makes the movies incredibly successful amp160It39s fun finding the differences in the stories and finding the uniqueness in each character and storylineamp8220I just find these movies are a really good fitamp8221 she added amp160amp8220I love doing the work and particularly with this one David HaydenJones our director Tony Dean Smith and I all really worked a lot on finding the reality of the moments amp160A lot of the joking banter between Davey and me was stuff that we found and wasn39t necessarily on the page as we felt we needed to ground it and make it realamp8220There39s a line about Lucy having a giant life eraseramp8221 she continued amp160amp8220I think everybody has periods when they would like a doover but I39m of the mindset that if anything different were to happen I wouldnamp8217t be where I am now amp160All the roads paths twists and turns lead you to wherever you are supposed to be amp160The takeaway from this movie is don39t worry about feeling lucky luck will find you That39s something I related to be it relationships work or whatever amp160I feel when you get to the place of letting it be things will fall into place and when you feel you no longer need it it kind of happensamp8221Sweetin is keeping busy while awaiting her next Hallmark project amp160In May she starts shooting the final season of Fuller House for Netflix and next week she is launching a parenting podcastamp160 amp8220Itamp8217ll be a raw unfiltered ridiculous look at parenting based on things I thought I would never have to sayamp8221 she revealedamp160 amp8220Sheamp8217s also not ruling out the possibility of a Hallmark Full House reunion of sorts with fellow Full House alumni Candice Cameron Bure and Lori Loughlin both regulars on the networkamp8220I really think that would be greatamp8221 she said with a smileamp160 amp8220Playing different characters in the same projectamp160 I think people would
