"Don't be afraid to ask questions. It demonstrates how eager you are to learn. A senior leader who asks questions presents a great role model and helps team members feel safe." As she explains in our WomenAdvancing conversation, this curiosity and the willingness to put herself out into new arenas is what E.W. Scripps' Jodi Chisarick, General Sales Manager, National Networks, has relied on. Her career track record is proof that it is wise advice.
Chisarick joined Scripps from 20th Television, where she served in ascending positions across two decades, most recently as Senior Vice President, General Sales Manager. While there, she learned to really trust her gut, something she urges all women to do. Now at Scripps, a company at the forefront of delving into the future, this practice is key. The most freeing revelation she has come to embrace is, "I realized I'm not going to be perfect in everything and it's ok to ask for help," and that by doing so, others have the opportunity to rise and stretch themselves.
During this interview we also indulge in a little crystal ball gazing, so be sure to watch and find out what we see!
