Wonya Lucas, the President/CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, has an unequaled legacy in the media community. Her dad, Bill Lucas, was hired by Ted Turner and the Atlanta Braves as the first Black General Manager in Major League Baseball and her uncle was the legendary Hank Aaron. Her mom was Vice President of Community Affairs at Turner Broadcasting, which Wonya joined after gaining experience in brand management at Clorox and Coca-Cola. After rising in the ranks at TBS, Wonya’s career spanned leadership roles at The Weather Channel, TV One, Discovery, PBS and NPR prior to joining the Hallmark family in 2020, just months before the pandemic redefined her priorities.
