According to Lotz it was while on tour with Avril Lavigne that she realized a change was needed amp160amp8220I was playing arenas and I wasn39t excited about it at allamp8221 she admitted amp160amp8220So I finished that tour and I was like amp8216I have to goamp8217 amp160That39s when it was time for me and that39s when I started actingamp160 I never planned on being an actressamp160 It39s weird I don39t feel like oneamp8221In fact Lotzamp8217s road to superherodom is an interesting one amp160amp8220I danced because I love to danceamp8221 she said amp160amp8220Then I got an agent and I was being paid to dance which was cool amp160But it was still about going to college and getting a job amp160I ended up becoming a part of a singing group moved to Europe and dropped out of school amp160When I came back I didn39t know what I wanted to do so I started taking acting classesamp8220It wasn39t that I necessarily wanted to become an actoramp8221 she continuedamp160 amp8220I just thought it was an art form that was about feeling amp160I wanted to feel those lows and highs in a safe environment and it was about the art of living in the momentamp8221While Lotz admits those early days on the road were at times tough she wouldnamp8217t trade them for anything and savors the memories amp160amp8220It was funquot she recalled amp160quotI loved movement and expressing myself so that was great and Lady Gaga was good she would come into rehearsals and sheamp8217d be doing it full outamp160 I remember doing one music video with her it was like four in the morning she showed up and was already Gaga amp160She had sparkly underwear on no one was there but she was in it amp8230 that girl she puts it downamp8221Like Gaga Lotz can also amp8220put it downamp8221 amp160Sheamp8217s been highkicking her way through three seasons on Legends but surprisingly it wasnamp8217t until she appeared on Arrow above then Legends that she started using a stunt double amp160amp8220I did a movie called The Machine that was heavy in martial arts and stuff with no double at allamp8221 she laughed amp160amp8220That39s now amp8216weirdamp8217 because I can39t imagine not having oneamp8220On Arrow I didn39t have a choiceamp8221 she continued amp160amp8220It39s all about the insurance thing amp160I39d be like amp8216It39s okay guys I can do stuffamp8217 amp160Theyamp8217re like amp8216sure you canamp8217 but it also has to do with time amp160Now I have a great stunt double and some days she39ll come to set and not end up doing anything but I still need her amp160She39s the one in all of the rehearsals choreographing the fights and learning the moves and teaching them to me to make sure that I39m safeamp8221It seems that as long as Lotz is around everyone in the cast of Legends will feel safeamp160 Asking her to dish on which of her costars is most likely to crack up during a take is not the best idea amp160amp8220These are my people I39m not gonna talk shit about anybodyamp8221 she joked amp160amp8220I feel that weamp8217re all really protective of one another now It39s like don39t come for my friends and that39s really nice amp160It is tough out there so we lean into each other and are totally different amp160It39s interesting that we all get along so wellamp8220Though I actually shot a scene where I could not stop laughingamp8221 she admitted amp8220There was a line about a Nick Zanoamp8217s character Nate loving broccoli and every time he said it I would die laughing and I ended up having to ask him to not say the line amp160To me the second season became a bit of a comedy and the third season is a fullblown comedy and has been so much fun amp160I really like taking things overthetopamp160 Going in this comedic direction has been great for the show and great for all of the characters amp160Everything is thriving more in the spaceamp8221Click on the social media tiles above or below to share this content with your friends and colleaguesThe opinions and points of view expressed in this commentary are exclusively those of the author andor subjects and do not necessarily represent the views of MediaVillagecomMyersBizNet Inc management or associated bloggers
