At a time when the country is grappling with a new normal, navigating the concerns and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, A+E Networks® has rolled out various initiatives to share information and resources with audiences to help support health and safety during the crisis. Through on-air and social support, #WeAreHereWithYou PSAs highlight Center for Disease Control (CDC) social distancing recommendations and messaging developed by the Ad Council driving to coronavirus.gov, a centralized resource which provides up-to-date information about COVID-19. A+E Networks has a long-term commitment to supporting veterans and highlighting their stories through the Mission to Honor initiative. HISTORY has partnered with veteran-led disaster response organization Team Rubicon, which is currently serving in communities across the country, leading efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Through its #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors campaign, volunteers across the country are assisting in a wide range of activities including delivering medical supplies, supporting emergency operation centers, delivering food to those in need, and staffing testing stations, among other operations. Additionally, A+E Networks is supporting and raising awareness for organizations assisting communities on the front lines of this crisis. In addition to Team Rubicon, these organizations include the USO of Metropolitan New York which is providing support resources for military servicemen and women and their families deployed during this critical time; the Gary Sinise Foundation which has launched a dedicated campaign called, Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service, which provides grants to first responders in need of personal protective equipment (PPE) when answering COVID-19 service calls, and financial assistance to first responders, service members, veterans, and their families impacted by the coronavirus; the First Responders Children's Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund which provides support to those first responder families who are enduring financial hardship due to the coronavirus outbreak; and is sharing messaging about the American Red Cross' call for blood donations.
Additionally, HISTORY has launched HISTORY at Home, a special initiative which makes available 100+ episodes of educational programming for free at https://www.history.com/history-at-home. Organized into "hubs" around 10 core curriculum topics and curated with study materials, text stories and short-form video, the content is best-suited for middle and high school students.
