“A cure for cancer is sitting in a tech transfer office somewhere in this country and it never got the funding it needed,” said Ruth Hedges, CEO and Industry Pioneer at Crowdfunding Roadmap Inc., at the inaugural Advancing Diversity Honors held January 10 during CES. Hedges was honored for her company’s Education Diversity initiative.
Hedges seeks to make crowdfunding accessible so that minority-, woman-, disability-, service-disabled veteran-, and LGBT-owned businesses can achieve financial success – and to reach out to the widest audience possible, so investors can inject much-needed capital into already established small- and medium-sized diversity-led businesses.
