Angela Talton, Nielsen’s Chief Diversity Officer, described how the organization infuses diversity and inclusion into everything it does at the inaugural Advancing Diversity Honors, held January 10 during CES. Talton joined Nielsen with a background in operations and, when challenged with the objective of developing a program to retain diverse talent, created a 15-month, M.B.A.-like curriculum inspired by her own experience achieving her M.B.A.
Her success rate? Nearly 50% of Class 1 Alumni are now in Vice President or General Manager leadership roles, expanding their influence across the organization. In accepting the honor on behalf of Nielsen’s Diversity Development & Retention Program, Talton said, “As you’re looking for talent in your organization, sometimes you need not look further than your own backyard.” See the full video above and view all the Honorees at the 2018 Advancing Diversity Honors at www.AdvancingDiversity.org.
